Description: Law Enforcement/Psychology combined is a tool that can be used in an organized manner to enforce the law using mental and emotional factors to govern a situation or activity. The Psychology of Law Enforcement Course will serve as a learning tool to promote the highest chance of victim and responder survivability through awareness, prevention, discussions, education, and case studies. Our goal is to help improve the professional capabilities of those working in Law enforcement and provide foundational and fundamental Psychological tools, techniques and resources that can enhance their ability to protect and serve.

Course Objectives: This course is designed to examine the influence of social, political, economic, and cultural forces on the evolution of modern day psychology of law enforcement principles. The course is divided into 10 Modules that focus on the challenges in law enforcement and today’s push for community policing.¬† For example, we will examine police culture, police ethics, police stressors, police diversity, critical incidents, crisis intervention, conflict resolutions skills, counterterrorism measures, active shooter situations or other acts of terror and how they affect law enforcement on federal, state, and local levels. Students will learn how these diverse and unpredictable forces are shaping the future of law enforcement in the 21st century.
